Chasing the Falcon
story by Angus Chaney

Setting of the Stage
Nearly ten summers have wheeled round since Eben’s clumsy sacrifice on the cliffs and the malodorous perishment of Raymond’s prize pumpkin, El Semental. With endless vigor, Young Warner Dubois perfects his woodcraft and pelting. Jeannie De Fay and her cliff maidens have departed the glades near the gap to pursue some noble mission or atrocity deeper in the wild forest...

Creation Myths for the Apocalypse
story by Angus Chaney
art by Ethan Nelson
The O.G.
An ethnographic study of the mountain bike clans of Central Vermont. Tall tales, ancient and modern, fully-illustrated for your enjoyment. A delightful picaresque for uncertain times.
“Bravo! A Tour-de-Forest! This is a funny, endearing-as-hell, post-apocalyptic grown-up fairy tale for mountain bikers and the people who love them. The illustrations are the cherry on top. Much praise to the stodgy editorial board of West Goshen University Press for green-lighting this little gem!”
- Five Stars - Dan Brett
“Bill McKibben meets Mad Max. This is a humorous account of a post-apocalyptic, mountain bike-worshipping society living in the hill towns of south central Vermont.”

Angus Chaney, storyteller, is adjunct faculty in the Classical Studies department at West Goshen University. ...Or may have been at one time. That bit’s unclear, perhaps unimportant. After two decades’ anthropological research, living and riding among the notoriously inaccessible and fractious cycling tribes of the Green Mountains, he published his groundbreaking primary ethnography: Proto-Cycology: Creation Myths for the Apocalypse. Hailed as one of Central Vermont’s foremost authorities on mountain biking mythology,* Angus rejects most of the pretense of academia, preferring swimming, hiking, mountain biking and roughhousing in the hills of West Goshen. All in the same day if need be.
Ethan Nelson, illustrator, can be found flinging ink and paint at various surfaces around Brandon, Vermont. Current collaborations beyond the Protoverse include the Brothers Dilphenstein, murals, park benches, and mini-golf courses. He grows heavy pumpkins and tall sunflowers for sport, and enjoys riding local trails on his 29” hardtail. He is currently looking for a good deal—with low financing—on a Kubota BX ...and maybe some welding equipment.
